'This was a virtuoso performance by the Soprano Xenia Hanusiak, a sequence of three challenging compositions which lasted nearly an hour.
The music was by Constantine Koukias and Paris based Kaija Saariaho, with the collaboration of artists Cazerine Barry (video) and Bob Scott (sound).
The first work, Koukias' Incantation II was an evocation where the voice was cleverly manipulated by electronic means.
Saariaho's Lonh had a text loosely based on a poem by the Mediaval Troubadour Jauffre Rudel in Provencal, English and French, while the final work ' A thousand doors, a thousand windows was devised by Xenia Hanusiak
The combination of the voice, pre-recorded music of Koukias and the image of Cazerine Barry was evocative and at times hypnotic....'
